Today’s guest is Sam Dogan. Sam left his job in investment banking at age 34 to start his own financial newsletter. It's called the Financial Samurai. And he's got a new book out this week called “Buy This, Not That!” how to spend your way to wealth and freedom.

In our conversation today, Sam and I discuss his one-word definition of Happiness. I know you can't guess the word so you have to stick around to find out what it is. It's a really good one actually, how wearing the right tie helped him get a job at Goldman Sachs, how he then transitioned out of investment banking to become an independent financial writer, how the right plan is the key to surviving inflation and the ups and downs of the market.
